  1. J.M. Myrick

Once you use the auto liter box, there’s no going back.

This system performs very well. We usually change the cartridge even 30-40 days. The only time it ever smells is when it’s time to change the cartridge. We have one smaller cat and she seems to enjoy it, especially when there is new litter.

  2. Impala

    Pricey

My older cat this worked out so well. For my new cat, not so much. But with the machine investment already there, I will continue using the beads until the machine fails. My new cat, pees in one spot and goes twice as often as my previous. I never had to tend to it. I have to now. The entire system is convenient. It beats having to do a daily chore of litter. Just could use a break on the price.

    Very happy with product

I have been using Crystal Litter for about a year. In the beginning, I needed help with the automatic box functions. But, the company and Amzone give me courtesy by providing a brand new litter box. The new box works great, and it’s very convenient. I didn’t need to deal with the heavy lifting of the sand litter anymore. I am grateful for this invention. I don’t see or smell cat waste; I genuinely appreciate it. I don’t like to pick up or touch any waste. This product fits my exact needs. Thank you.

    Best cat litter

Best cat litter I have ever used. But a little pricy since I have to exchange almost every 1.5-2 week.

  5. DebiB

We have two boxes and 4 cats. The liners last about one week.

    They work as expected

    So Happy With This Litter!

Yes, it can be pricey, especially with all the inflation these days, but this litter (and the self-cleaning box) is worth it.Like many parents, I am so busy and wear a lot of hats, and it’s difficult to find and use life hacks that just give you back a few precious minutes in your day.I admit: when my husband said he wanted to get a kitten so it could grow up with our daughter, I immediately groaned in my head. I knew I was being signed up to maintain the littler box, and take care of the kitty altogether. He did promise we could get an auto-cleaning box, so that’s what allowed me to get excited about having a cat again. Love cats-not so much a fan of litter boxes or how they stink up a house. It is on the pricier side, but the value is there. For our cat, each changeable, laminated cardboard box with litter can last us 2-3 weeks. No more daily digging into and cleaning the box. All the waste is raked under the flap on the electric part of the box.The litter is highly absorbent, and seems to masks smells very well. It also becomes very clear when it’s time to change the litter. It comes in a laminated cardboard tray. It’s very convenient. I put on gloved, removed the used tray from underneath the rake, I carefully slide the entire tray into a garbage bag, careful not to tear the bag.I then take the new tray, set it down, dump in the new litter, then I put the electric part of the box with rake eight over the top of it.It’s so easy and timesaving. Far less disgusting, too!We now have a little 1.5 year old mini tiger, who has become my little girl’s friend, protector, and she’s been the perfect addition to our family. It’s just the cherry on top that I don’t have to waste precious time on constant litter box maintenance!]

    Odorless cat litter

I love this product and use with an automatic cat litter box cleaner. Safe and odorless for weeks!!

  13. Damon M. Tatem

    Easy to use

These inserts are great. Easy to use and you don’t have to dig around with a scoop in the cat pot any more. Crystals eliminate almost all the odor doing a much better job than clumping litter and other litters on the market. Easily disposed of. I have a big cat who eats a lot and only have to change the refill tray once a month. Saves a lot of time and TROUBLE! One of the best animal product investments I have ever made!

    Why did I wait

We’ve had the auto box for a while and tried it with other litters. I’m not sure why we didn’t just go with this from the get go. Odor is better, frequency of changing is decreased, mess is better. It’s a win.

    4 years now, still satisfied

Normally don’t write reviews, but have had this product now for 4 years and it has been perfect for my cat situation. I was a LitterMaid devotee for over 10 years and loved it, but this to me is a better low maintenance alternative is you understand the replacement cost tradeoff.Definitely love the no scooping and even with LitterMaid, you had to scoop to clean the rake frequently and listen to it grind back and forth when clogged.Would not buy another product to this unless someone shows another improved alternate.

    Life changer

Once you experience this litter with an automatic box, you’ll never want to go back to a standard setup. It lasts 4-5 weeks with my 1 cat. You do need to stir up the crystals every week for it to last that long. Definitely worth the expense to upgrade!

    Worth the price!

In the beginning I hated the idea of spending so much on litter and brand new litter box but it’s so worth it. I have two cats and cleaning the litter box was always a chore that everyone in the house hated to maintain. Now, the litter box gets cleaned about 1-1 1/2mos and it’s all done within 10 minutes. It lasts that long! Stop procrastinating and just buy the damn thing. You won’t regret it! 😺

    Great product

The only complaint is that the price has went up quite a bit, but it has taken away from the daily hassle of having to clean the box daily. Its as simple as slide out, toss out, an replace.

  28. Grace

    Convenient

My 2 cats and their 3 PetSafe Automatic cat pans are in the living room of my one bedroom apartment. These litter pans, so far, have been the best solution to what could be a tricky living situation.

    Great but pricey

These are great if you hate scooping cat poop! But! And there’s always a but right? They are on the pricey side especially if you have 2 cats…they barely last 2 weeks for mine. A smart person would scoop the poop out after a week but that defeats the purpose of it so I just change it just under the 2 week mark even with the subscribe and save savings its still a little to pricey but I hate scooping poop and they deserve a clean box so I do it for them!

How I finally got kitty to use this!

My kitty is 16 yrs old, and her box needs a lot more cleaning than before. I bought this to keep up w daily cleaning. At first, she looked at the box as the enemy. She wouldn’t even go in the room, then she tried it out, and the automatic raking scared her so much that stopped using the box, and she started peeing on my pillow! I thought it was a sure failure. Most cats hate “new” and “change”, but I knew if I could get her to use this thing – that she would have a cleaner box, and I wouldn’t have as much daily maintenance. I decided to try again-with a much slower approach. I took the box away and started over 2 weeks later.First, I put the PetSafe box in the room near her original litter box – with no litter and not plugged in. After about a week -she got use to it near her, and she was no longer scared of it.Then, I moved it next to her original box and put her regularclumping litter in it – still leaving it unplugged and just scooping it myself (the automatic rake can’t handle clumping litter – so it’s important not to let it run during this phase).A few days of her using the PetSafe box, I started mixing Crystal’s into both the new and old boxes to get her use to the new litter. At that point, I also stopped scooping the original box and only scooped the new box.Once she stopped using the old box (about a week) – I removed it, but still kept the PetSafe box unplugged. I spent another week slowly moving her over to only crystal litter and still scooping the box myself (not using the automated raking).Once she was using the PetSafe box regularly with only Crystal’s- I started plugging it in 2x a day to manually run the rake. She would be in the room, watching it work (just like she use to watch me scoop her box). She got really use to the sounds it made, and about 2 weeks in, she no longer seemed interested in it when I ran it. Then, I plugged it in for good. She seems perfectly happy with it now. We have been using it for several months. One other tip – I found that the crystal litter wasn’t lasting very long (barely 10 days) – so I experimented with different crystal litters. Dr. Elsey’s senior litter works amazing with this box. It is the same material but it is a sand instead of the little crystal rocks. I buy an 8 lb. Bag and get 4 uses out of it). The Crystals just didn’t absorb as well as the sand consistency -even with daily stirring.I hope this helps for those of you with finicky kitties. It IS possible – but it takes time. It took a little over a month to recover from the first attempt (I should have known better to try and switch her without easing her into it).

Disposable trays work well, but not for as long as they claim. BUT there are alternative options. Plz see below ☺

I’m so very happy with my PetSafe Scoopfree electronic litter box I bought a few months ago! My cats love it & it is so easy to clean! Just toss the disposable tray & litter, drop in new tray, fill with litter, & you’re on your way! However, I discovered one problem with this… On the packaging of the litterbox & the trays, PetSafe claims their disposable trays will last a month for 1 cat & 10-15 days for 2 cats (which I have). Unfortunately, I found this to NOT be true… I generally get maybe close to a week if I push it (& trust me when I say pushing it!). In reality, it’s more like 5 days for 2 cats (maybe my cats just “excrete” more than PetSafe cats, but this is my experience so far lol). So with the disposable liners costing roughly $20 a pop after tax, it costs my family anywhere from $80 to $120 a month for litter tray refills! I turned to Amazon in hopes of finding refills for less cost & did find the above 3-pk which equals to be basically the same as buying 2 & getting 1 free from my local Petsmart. Plus of course with Amazon Prime they get delivered straight to my house within a couple days which gives some added convinienence (which, lets face it, for those of us willing to shell out around $200 for a litter box that cleans itself, we are ALL about convinienence & saving time lol). So with this option, I calculated I would be be spending around $52-$78/mo (so $28-$42 savings/mo) but even this is kinda pricey for my family’s budget. After a couple months of this cost I decided to do some research to see if there was any way to save some money, I found that PetSafe does offer a plastic litter tray as a more affordable option! This permanent tray costs just a little over the price of TWO disposable trays PLUS they add in enough litter for one fill! Sounded great! However, after reading the many reviews on PetSafe’s permanent tray, I saw that people weren’t that impressed, stating that the PetSafe permanent tray had a very small waste compartment, causing the need to change litter frequently, had holes that let out odor more regularly, and a “manufacturing flaw” in which the magnets that attach to the disposal compartment’s trap door (that allows the machine to rake waste into disposal compartment) did not attach properly, therefore causing the waste to instead build up in the front of the litter box, instead of into the disposal compartment. With these problems being said, I saw a lot of reviews suggesting a different version of this permanent tray that is made for the PetSafe Scoopfree box but is by a company called “Forever Litter Trays”. The Forever Litter Tray is currently going for about $10 more than the scoopfree version ($59.95 vs $49.95) & does NOT come with litter, so its a little more of an investment at first. But since I was spending $80 a month on disposable trays, I thought I’d give it a shot. I just received my Forever Litter tray in the mail last night & it was very easy to put together & the reservoir is definitely bigger then the temp trays, but how well it ends up working is for another review on Forever Litter’s Amazon page (which I’ll post in a couple weeks after using 😉)So in conclusion:Great litter box, disposable inserts work great, but not for as long as PetSafe claims & can become quite costly over time. If cost isn’t a prob, disposable is the way to go for convenience, plus, if you buy on Amazon, you can get this 3 pk that is about the same cost of buying 2 & getting 1 free from your local Petsmart ot similar store. However for those with “income constraints” who are looking for an even better option financially, it might be a good idea to shell out a few more bucks up front & just a couple more minutes of time each litter change & go for a permanent tray. PetSafe has their own version, but Amazon reviews suggest it may have flaws & not a big enough waste compartment. Many Amazon users suggest spending $10 more (plus cost of litter) for Forever Litter’s version which seems to be more efficient & longer lasting. Below are the links for PetSafe’s Scoopfree Permanent Litter Tray & Forever Litter’s Permanent Tray for Amazon if you want to so your own research ☺. Hope this helps & beat of luck!PetSafe Scoopfree:https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01J5GE3GQ/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdb_DyWjzbMZEJMBKForever Litter:https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B001OCJXRO/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdb_4HVjzb9J62GV1

    The best out there…

Of all of the affordable & available automatic litter boxes out there, this one is the best. I tried the LitterMaid for just under 2 years after it was a gift to my cat from my mother. I put up with all of its flaws and issues; mostly because I don’t think its fair that my cat has to stand in his own waste because I keep long hours at times. The smell and my cat’s habit of kicking litter everywhere nearly drove me out of the house until I spent the extra $50 on the tent. At least the tent made it easy to drag the silly thing out of the house when it finally died beyond my meager repair abilities! Then, I tried the Stylette LitterSweep. My mother has one of these for her cat, and loves it. Except when it refuses to stop spinning and the cat can’t get in the box, which appears to happen rather often. Mine didn’t last in the apartment long enough for that to start, because within 2 days it was needing to be “repositioned” each time it was used. The “hood” (like the tent, quite expensive!) didn’t prevent the cat from kicking litter everywhere, and didn’t offer any privacy. The thing went back to the store directly after the winter holidays, and the store manager shared with me that each one they had sold in that 10 day period had also been returned! To make matters worse, my cat who had never really cared for the clumping litter was really making his distaste known by cleaning the stuff out of his paws all over the apartment.I was going to give up on automatic boxes, and saw an ad for the Scoop Free on Amazon. I loved the fact that it used crystals, because my cat has liked those since they came on the market. I was intrigued by the idea of a ‘cartridge’ system. I figured I could always return it if it didn’t work, so I bought it. I regularly get 30 days, sometimes 32-33 days out of the cartridge without any special maintenance except to make sure that all the waste stores in the trap instead of being scooped back in the box. During the summer, I add baking soda (but I’ve been doing that since I first had a cat many years ago, and in reality, it probably isn’t needed). My three biggest issues are:1. …the cost. The trays are really quite expensive, and although I’ve tried “adding litter” it doesn’t really help because the trap area still fills up. Also, the price does appear to be going up. It is a bit cheaper to order directly from Amazon, because you get free shipping.2. …changing the box. It doesn’t take long to change the box, and its easy to dispose of, but there are times when it doesn’t line up correctly, and is a pain. I’ve had some problems with the people that clean my apartment (remember those weird hours I mentioned?) moving the box to vacuum and the box becoming partially undone.3. …the weight of the cartridges. I’m fortunate that the package is left at my door. If it were left anywhere else, I think I’d have to ask somebody to help me because the box with all 3 cartridges is not just weighty, but unwieldy.I would love to see the company have the cartridges last a bit longer, and to make a little with NO scents.

  36. Lifelong Learner

    Overpriced!

The first version was better, as the rake actually raised the feces up and into the holding compartment. This one just pushes it to the end. However, after trying and returning the Litter Robot, I came back to the ScoopFree. While having shortcomings, it is the lesser of the evils for fulfilling it’s purpose. I appreciate the comparative simplicity of managing the excrement of two indoor cats. (I have two boxes). The cost of the trays is obscenely overpriced IMHO. They may become prohibitively overpriced in the near future for this retired cat owner.

So easy and convenient, but price went up a lot over time

I’ve been using this litter box since 2019 and I love it. I bought one for my boyfriend’s cat too – it works great and is so convenient. My only gripe is that is used to be $49 for 3 boxes in 2019 and now it’s $70. I looked back at my purchase history and saw the price has gone up slowly over the past few years. My cat goes through a box in 6 days, which averaged about $66/mo before to now $93/mo.I’ve tried other litters in there (you’re not supposed to I think), and it has caused some jamming problems – have to take it apart and clean it all out, including in impossible to reach places, so I probably wont try that again. If the price doesnt go back down when (if) our current 2022 inflation drops back to normal levels (assuming that’s why the price has been rising since 2019?), I might consider whether it’s economically more reasonable going back to scooping, or look for products that could handle other litters.

    Great Crystals

Hardly ever any smell comes from these crystals unless it’s close to changing time then you know.

    Not worth the price. Stinky.

Been using for about 8 months. I have two cats and a tray lasts about 7 days. 10 max. There is not enough litter per tray to allow the cats to dig. The amount of litter is shallow. It starts smelling after about 4 days. My cats prefer clay litter but I got the scoop free for ease. Seeing as the litter box and rake itself has to be cleaned, I see no point in spending an arm and a leg on these trays since I’m already wiping down the box. I have since purchased a reusable tray and the fresh step crystal litter in the bag (which looks like the exact same product and is performing well) and that has cut the cost of litter down 55%. Not to mention is more environmentally friendly. I’ve added the fresh step odor control crystals. At $23 every week these trays weren’t a sustainable option for me.

Something’s changed in the last year or so.

The cats (2 of them) have been using this with no problem for the last 4 years or so. But in this past year I’ve noticed what usually took 50 cycles to look like it needs replaced now takes all of 30 before things look “swampy”. These did get really expensive during the pandemic, and then came back down in price, but apparently wayyy less effective.

No dust to breathe and easy to change out.

    Very easy to change out.

Long-time user, the trays no longer last as long as they did before mid-2022

I have three cats, and the trays previously lasted four or five days; now, I must change them every three days. They have changed something recently that requires purchasing them more frequently. I know this because I have used subscribe and save for this product for the last five years and have never run out until last year. Now, I have to purchase additional cases of cat litter trays between orders every time.

Impossible to live without now- until something better is invented.

They’re the best thing we’ve had in reference to litter boxes. Absorbance is great, smells not as bad at all, scent much better than before, not hard to clean but I still wear gloves to do so just in case it doesn’t since we have had a couple to soak through but that may have been our fault. Overall great!

    Another win

This product has been by far my #1 go to out of all the different litter’s I’ve tried at the minimum it absorb’s 2 times more than the average litter you see everyday and the smell like what smell !?From the typical litter box’s the smelly treats left behind are little too none and is very time efficient on cleaning and replacing for this I will never go back to the standard litter. yes it’s pricey as your purchasing it and in all actuality the long run I’m saving a lot more money best product ever I tell all my friends and neighbors about it and they all have considered it or have gotten one them selfs.

Super convenient, but you needs changing more often than advertised. Pricey.

I’ve been using PetSafe crystal litter in my automated litterbox from the same company for years now, and I’m super happy about it! It does feel more wasteful than using typical litter, as I’m tossing out this whole box and a cover each time I change it out. The convenience factor more than makes up for it, having to change it only once every 6 days. Therein lies the rub; it doesn’t last long.PetSafe claims the following changing plan for the litter tray:1 cat: 20-30 days2 cats: 10-15 days3+ cats: 7-10 daysI have 2 cats, and have to change it every 6 days. Before they were on wet, canned food, I only had to change it every 7 days. Neither are close to what the company recommends. You may be thinking: “well, you’re changing it too soon”, but I assure you that at the end of 6 days, my 2BR apartment wreaks of cat urine, the crystals in the box are nearly all saturated, and the poo compartment is bulgingly full.I recommend this system – the PetSafe automated litter box and refill trays, but want people to have realistic expectations about how often to change it and, therefore, how many refills they’ll have to buy. And they’re a pretty penny…

    Beat my expectations

We have two cats and prior to this we used a box with pellets and pee pads. I have a really bad back and have had two surgeries on it as well as a knee replacement a few months back so it is hard for me to bend and clean the box if my gf is traveling. With this litter box, there is not scooping and changing pee pads, just replacing a box which is especially design to hold crystals which absorb the urine and a collection area that collects the hard stuff. I was really surprised that the lavender scented crystals absorbed and clumped the crystals so when the unit turns on (it senses when a cat entered and left the box) and rakes the poop it also rakes the clumps of crystals. There is also no need to clean the crystals or replace them, you just swap the old cardboard tray on the bottom for a new tray every 3 weeks (for two cats). I am very sensitive to the urine smell from cats, but even after three weeks (we could probably go 4 weeks), there is absolutely no smell. I do think that $110 for 6 cardboard trays which works out to $26.47 per month is a bit pricey but the convenience of not having to scoop the box every few days, change the urine pad every week and then dumping and replacing the crystals every 3-4 weeks is worth the extra money. They do have a less expensive permanent tray where all you do is change the crystals every 3 weeks, however, most of the reviews say that permanent tray does not contain the smell. I might try it one time for $58 and judge for myself.I highly recommend this litter box, especially for those who are challenged bending over.

Best cat litter I have ever used!

I’ve tried so many different types of litter! And I absolutely hate scooping litter every single day, so I decided to try the PetSafe litter box. I’ve been using this litter with the PetSafe litter box for over two years now and it has worked so well I bought a second one and have this litter on my subscribe and save. There is no scent to the litter, which has been the reason I have had to change my litter options a few times in the past. My two kitty ladies do not like their litter scented. I do, however, need to change this litter when we get to about 40-45 uses (the litter box keeps up with the number of times the litterbox has been used) or urine will begin to seep through the bottom. But now that we have two boxes, that usually lasts about 3 weeks. The clean-up is so simple and replacing the litter takes only a few minutes. HIGHLY recommend this litter!

    Five Happy Kitties

I have 5 Himmie’s and they love this litter. Omg!!! Where shall I begin??? The fact there’s no scooping!! These crystals definitely absorb odor. The one thing I do is, inside the lid, I put a plastic bag in between just in case there’s too much urine because in the past, my wood floor was stained by the urine. Probably over a period of time and I hadn’t noticed. I have 4 of these litter boxes and I change out the trays every 2-3 weeks. This litter does make a small mess but with 5 cats constantly in and out of the litter pans, that’s a small issue. I wish they were less expensive since I purchase so frequently but I’ll never stop buying these!!!

    My favorite cat litter!

I have lived with cats since a kid and it was always a pain having to change the litter box because, the dust of the new litter would make me sneeze for hours. This is an easy way to keep the litter box clean. I also have a auto scoop litter box for the cat litter. The absorbency is amazing. There is never pee smell that comes out. The color of the litter does change when it’s used so you can tell when you need to change it. When changing the litter all I have to do is change the whole box and put a the new box in. It’s so simple and easy I highly recommend this.

    The best cat litter ever

As a lifelong cat owner, I’ve owned so many different cat litter systems. This one is by far the best. It’s expensive, but worth it. You literally will never touch cat litter. And in the meantime, the cat pee and poo will get freeze dried and will not stink at all. And once there are enough of them accumulated, you just open a new cat litter box, and replace it completely. Put the lid on the old box, throw it in the trash, and it’s done. So easy and clean. I highly recommend! There is no better system than this one.

Easy and convenient when used with the electric cat litter box system.

I absolutely love this crystal litter and the fact that it comes in easy to use trays. You can purchase the trays either in threes or in six and each tray lasts about a week and a half depending upon how many cats you have the litter in the trays are super absorbent, they hold the odor from the cats urine and last about a week and a half, depending upon how many cats you have, as for me I have two cats. The trays are for use with the electric cat box system which I absolutely love.

Awesome love these keep coming back to buy more.

I love this product I cannot find the lavender scent in my area at the store I did like that. If you buy in a three pack, it saves you a few dollars. Sometimes they don’t come on time though. I’ve noticed that even if Amazon guarantee use the two day delivery.

Subpar litter option that is way too expensive

These are probably the most expensive litter refills on the market. They are exclusively used for the ScoopFree Litter Box. While these work for the most part, there are too many problems that make this not a worthwhile option for your felines.Ease of Use:The ScoopFree Litter Box has a low entry cost when compared to other automatic self-cleaning litter options. However, you must use these trays for the device to work. It’s easy to put in and replace a tray. It has magnets that stick to the waste cover of the ScoopFree Litter Box so you hear a click when it’s installed properly. A used litter tray can be covered easily and fit in a standard large size kitchen trash bag and then thrown in the garbage. This eliminates any need of scooping out waste.Safety and Cleanliness:The crystal litter has some dust when pouring, but I have not noticed much dust after use. Litter will still track outside of the box. After a few days, you will find crystals outside on the floor even with the use of a mat. My cats have never attempted to ingest the crystals and they do not seem to get stuck in the paws. So this has been generally safe for them. Mine accommodated quickly and did not have issues using the crystal litter and burying waste. Crystal litter will get pretty nasty once they can no longer hold liquid. They will change colors and smell bad after absorbing enough liquid. When it comes to solid waste, this litter attaches to them and does a fine job drying them out to reduce smell. It will not work well if your cat has diarrhea. Leaves the litter box relatively clean after each use as everything pretty much stays in the disposable tray.Cost and Duration:This costs way too much now. Three trays used to cost around $50. While they were not cheap in the first place, they have gotten much more expensive (now around $70). There is also no other manufacturer of these trays so you are at the mercy of the seller. Sure, there alternatives like the reusable ones, but when it comes to these where you can just pick up and throw out, there are none on the market. The duration of each tray is questionable. With 2 adult cats, a tray last about a week. At around 1.5 weeks, it’s unusable and the smell is really bad. They rate that 3 trays will last about 1.5 months but I get no where near that. So at $23 a week, it would cost around $1196 a year for these refill trays.Critiques:Cost is already insane. But what’s more insane is that these don’t work perfectly. Litter smells after a couple days of use and darkens quickly if cats like to urinate in the same spots. While these are easy to change, you still have to get up and close with the box, lift it up, and cover it before smell will go away. This will still leave small pieces of waste when the rake from the automatic litter box goes through it. This does not last remotely close the the advertised duration.Alternatives:-You can buy reusable plastic tray that works with the automatic litter box. However, reviews have indicated that it needs to be changed out more frequently and that it can be messy.-You can try different litter. You will still need a tray but you can try using clumping litter along with the crystal one. However, the rake that goes through may break up the clumps that are formed.-Ditch this. Take the loss. Find a completely different option. Go for litter robot or another automatic litter box that uses something differentOverall, I was pleased with these trays at first before I started seeing all the problems that arose from using them. Save yourself some money. After realizing the true cost of these per year, I immediately switched off these.

    Makes life easier 🐈🐈‍⬛

These disposable litter trays for the PetSafe scoop free litter box are a life changer. They free up lots of time from cleaning up the cat litterbox. I also use the PetSafe reusable tray but get these disposable trays occasionally to make life easier for my pet sitter.

Lifesaver for anyone who is no longer able to lift heavy stuff anymore !!

I adore my cats, but after having a major illness and being treated over several years with different types of chemotherapy I just could no longer muster the strength to lift and to even to scoop the litter box anymore. I thought that by having my traditional scooping litter delivered right to my door that my litter box struggle would be considerably less. I was wrong. I could just barely manage getting down on my knees in order to scoop the box, but what I could not do was carry out the heavy bag of scooped clumps and remaining dirty litter in the box or lift the heavy bag up over the side of the dumpster to dispose of it. I also could not manage to wash and sanitize the box every 7 or 9 days as I always have. I was becoming very concerned about the health and happiness of my pets and myself. I worried about the bacteria that was multiplying at an incredible speed, the odor, and more than anything that the cats would either hold their urine or attempt to find alternative places to eliminate because I was unable to properly dispose of their obviously filthy and smelly waste or keep their litter and box as fresh as possible. Enter the fresh scoop box, and WOW has it changed my life and my cats lives! Now when it comes to the litter box, essentially it scoops itself. After 12-14 days I lift the very light housing up away from the disposable litter tray, take the litter tray box top out from under the litter tray which now contains the dirty litter and cover the used litter tray with the clean box top. I then take 4 pieces of inexpensive packing tape or two of giant rubber bands and tightly secure each side of the box. It is amazing to me that approx 14 days of used odor free litter ( produced by 2 cats) is contained in a (after taping it closed) compact, clean, approx size is 25″x15 and approx 2-3″ thick (deep),extremely light weight, and in white unmarked box. I can carry the box outside under my arm and can with absolutely no effort at all drop it right into the dumpster. I used to have layer 3 new stretch scented trash bags inside of each other to make a reinforced bag that was certain not to tear with the weight of the used litter, get on my knees next to box and try scoop the very thick, sludgy, wet, and heavy globs of used litter twice a day. The trash pick up is three times a week, because the urine odor attracts rats, I would have wait with an extremely heavy stinking garbage bag with 2-3 days worth of dirty litter until just before the garbage pick occurred to throw out the dirty litter. I would always panic when I had to rush around after hearing the dump truck coming down the street trying to get the very heavy garbage bag outside and in the dumpster before the truck arrived. Many times, even if I could use a small cart to carry the bag out, I just could not lift the bag up into the dumpster. The whole issue was just becoming a HUGE problem and worry for me. I am so relieved and happy to say, that thanks to the technology of scoop free litter box and efficiency that Amazon offers concerning shipping and delivery, I am no longer worrying or struggling just trying to take care of my pets. It is really awesome!! The only downside and I hate to point out any negatives with this lifesaver, is the price. It is really expensive for me now that I am on a fixed income due to my health. I worry about the price continuing to escalate at a rapid rate over time. As for the product 5 stars as for the price I wish that there was a better lower price offered for buying the 6 pack of refills or a refill program or club that the company-not Amazon- offered for a significant savings for consistent consumers. I will say that the best and cutest added bonus of the scoop free litter box system is that the cats LOVE ❤️ to race over to the box after they hear the “arm” mechanism engage, and they wait crouching down until the “show” starts. My smarty pants bengal has figured out how the whole thing works. She will round up her trusty, but less smart partner in crime, step halfway inside of the box and with over exaggerated scratching movements attempting to “set off” the cleaning mechanism. After a few seconds of wild movement, she quickly backs up and out of the box then crouches down with her buddy on the mat waiting for the show to start. Hilarious! I highly and definitely recommend this litter box. This box especially addresses concerns for anyone who struggles daily ( due to health, mobility, age, living arrangements, etc) or simply really dislikes the whole process of lugging home crazy heavy boxes of dusty litter, scooping the box religiously, disposing of the dirty litter, the odor produced from the litter box, and suffering from allergies as well as extra dusting/sweeping around the home due to the dust processed from even the newest scoopable litter.

Easy to use but very expensive

Have 2 cats and the box of 3 last just over a month, maybe a month and a half. It’s easy to use and clean up is a snap, but you pay the price for convenience. As soon as I’ve finished with this box of 3, I’m changing over to the reusable plastic box that fits my machine. More work, but saves money and environment.
