  1. Lorraine

    Great litter

The only bad feature is the litter is light but, it’s heavy to pick up.

  2. B. M.

    Cats are happy

Nice lightweight cat litter. Great to find a litter that doesn’t weigh so much it adds extra shipping cost. Has been working fine, the cats seem perfectly happy with it. It is easy to scoop and the clumps don’t disintegrate on the sifter.

  3. Renee

Great value and my kitty loves it!

    1st time cat owner

The media could not be loaded.

As a first time cat owner I knew nothing about kitty litter. I tried a couple other brands but the clumps stuck to the bottom of the litter box. This is very lightweight and id and clumps stick to the bottom they are very easily loosened with a slight bang against the side. My rescued blind Russian Grey seems to like her kitty litter. 😉

  5. TobyAnne

    Best litter ever

I like everything. I have a 18 pound cat that stretches out 3 feet! Big litter box & WILLIE LIKES IT! So much easier for me to handle when cleaning!!!!

    Works as advertised?!

Much lighter than regular litter and absorbs pretty well too. With 3 cats I was skeptical, but I use regularly now and just add an extra deodorizer occasionally.

  7. Amanda K.

Best cat litter for multiple cats

I really like this cat litter because it hides the scents for multiple cats and they use the restroom better when we use this litter.

  8. CD

    Recommend this litter

Lightweight is really lighter and easier to handle. Nice scent and not overpowering. We are a multi cat household and have tried several different litters. This one works best for us.

Great product at a great price

This product truly is low dust which I love. It does not dry my cat’s paws and captures 100% of the smell. It doesn’t even smell when I’m cleaning up the day’s waste. I’d say there’s low scent, your litter box area just won’t smell like animal waste. So far this is the only litter that my cat has not managed to kick outside the pan, and it doesn’t get trapped in her paws. It ships in a plastic bag inside a cardboard box so if you have an old litter jug/container I recommend storing it there. The pictures on the product listing are true to what you get when it ships.Overall I’m very happy with this product, and the amount I got for the price. am thinking about starting a subscription to have it delivered regularly. Highly recommend.

The worse litter for a Maine Coon

I tried this litter for couple of months but for my Maine Coon this was the worse litter ever! It gets all over my cats fur, tail and paws leaving a huge mess all over my houseMaybe for a short hair cat but definitely not for a long hair cat

BEST CAT LITTER ON THE PLANET

I have used a lot of different kinds and brands of cat litter and this is the best for keeping the box dry and odor free! Plus, since it is light, it is so easy to take up the three flights of stairs to my apartment!! Lol I really love this cat litter, it’s a real miracle for me and my three male cats!

    Will only use this product

Easy to use. Covers all kitty orders. I clean my box twice a week but have under a couple circumstances leave the box for two weeks. Still had the absorbency and No odor. Will only use this product. (One kitty home).

    Good litter

Easy to clean and a fresh scent

  16. Virginia Schwartz

    My cats pooped in it.

My snobby cats only use TidyCat. It’s low dust, lightweight and lasts far longer than clay litters. This litter controls the smell the best it can. It’s used for poop. It’s not magic. You will still smell some poop. It’s ALL we use.

Smells great. Lots of dust though

Lots of dust with this stuff. That’s the only down side to it.

  18. B. Smith

    This box vs the Jug.

The box is heavier and harder to handle for this senior mom. I prefer the jug but they were not in stock anywhere. The jug is easier for me to handle.

It keeps my house from stinking

I always hurt when I have to shop for this litter in the stores but this is my favorite. I foster kitties and they use it A LOT. It’s easy to clean up and works great.

    Great product

The very best litter I’ve used.

  21. LK

Made it so easy, we got yet another cat

Idk why this stuff has any bad reviews at all bc IT’S SERIOUSLY AMAZING. lolObv, it’s lightweight. So it’s a heck of a lot easier to drag out of the trunk of the car, up the stairs, into the apt, then in and out of the closet as needed to fill the litter box. And, obv you get a lot more for the price bc it’s sold in the same sizes as the other litter, but weighs less. This stuff clumps super hard.. esp if you give it time to “cure” before scooping (so it doesn’t fall apart). And since it’s lightweight, it doesn’t almost bend the scoop in half backwards as you’re trying to sift thru the stuff in the box.The biggest thing is the smell. Obv, yes it stinks when they first drop a bomb in it, but you can’t smell any trace of litter box when you walk in our house or even in the rooms that the boxes are in either (we scoop every day tho). The other litter smells so bad after a few days of using it (no matter how often we scoop. It smells like garbage and throw up even when it’s clean), but this stuff doesn’t smell bad at all after almost 2 weeks of using it. I just add more as needed to keep enough in the litter box and we’re good to go.It’s not super dusty either, but def not dust free.. it does follow them out of the litter box a little more but it’s a small price to pay for everything else. We keep a broom near it and sweep it back towards the box until we scoop it or use the dust buster that’s near the other box. 10 out of 10, would recommend

If you have more than one cat you might want to use baking soda to

I have five head a cat In an automatic litter box that seems to work very well but every three days I got to make sure it’s cleaned out but I still have to use baking soda for smell Probably because I have so many cats

    The best!

Works better than any other litter that I’ve tried. Very low to no dust, or odor. And it’s lightweight, so it’s easy for this old lady to manage.

  24. Katie Blackshear

    Don’t buy

It doesn’t help with odor control. All the pee goes to the bottom and is so stinky. Overwhelming urine smell. I have to wear a mask to scoop. It’s that intense

    good litter!

this light weight litter is pretty good except if my 2 cats pee in same spot it becomes like sludge other wise works well. the box & bag though are not convineint. they are very difficult to work with & make a huge mess! had 4 boxes with faulty bage so as u try to gently slide it up out of box as someone holds box in place bottom of bag lets go & litter EVERYWHERE!

Shipping in Larger Box makes Picking it up Difficult

Product is perfect, and buying a large box is the way to go. Amazon’s tendency to ship it is a much larger box is not reasonable. It can ship by itself with a label!

    Used this litter for years

We have used this litter for several years. I did try another brand recently but came back to it. It is lightweight and covers odors really well. It isn’t 99% dust free but I don’t think there is one that can live to that claim. It is less dusty than other litters that we have used in the past. I will be sticking with this brand for the foreseeable future.

    good litter but questionable claim

So I do like this litter. It checks most boxes for me…unscented, low dust, easy to scoop (mostly), and light weight so I can actually lift/move the box when needed. We do scoop almost daily and only have 1 cat. The claim of controlling ammonia smell for 14 days is a stretch. We barely get 7 days and have to replace the litter fully. and it can be an eyewatering strong smell….and the cat is healthy. It does clump and fairly easy to sift. It does stick to the walls and you have to scrape it…but that task seems easier than other brands we tried. I have noticed some tracking but the bits sweep up pretty easily and if I had a better mat it would be a non issue.

  29. Kitty Mom

    So much dust

    Too much dust!

The litter works fine and has odor control, but I had forgotten that lightweight litter is always more dusty, as in the dust rises up when cats use it. It makes me cough when cleaning the litter box. So even though the box says 99.9% dust free, it is not.

    Great litter, difficult packaging

We’ve been buying this litter for a while and appreciate the fact that it is both unscented and also lightweight. The trouble with buying the big box, however, is that you get a lot of litter in a large plastic bag in a big box, with no easy way to pour it. Granted, there is a push-in handle on one side of the box, so I guess I shouldn’t complain too much. It would almost be easier to have the litter in the box with no bag as far as pouring it goes, because the bag flops around and makes litter go everywhere. Best to find a scooper of some sort to dip into the box, instead of attempting to pour it.

    Love this product

They have made this super user friendly from using the box effectively etc. you don’t not smell urine or feces and if clumps effectively for you to clean easily. It does track out of the litter box like many litters but is easily avoidable with a mat

    Product works. Won’t buy again. Here’s why….

As someone who has been owned by these brilliant creatures for 30yrs (multiple sets) I have a GREAT deal of experience with litter. However, in a desperate effort to find a more modern and LIGHTER option, I decided to do a very expensive taste-test of sorts. I purchased EIGHT different brands. I compared them all against each other, as well as traditional brands ranging from the tree-hugger types (Dr. Elsey’s – Precious Cat) and the more mainstream ones. As far as possible, all other conditions were kept the same. (This, of course, not being a lab or anything.)Here’s the thumbnail: I prolly will give up on “lightweight” litter. There is simply no formulation that delivers safely.First, the scented ones — Please do not do this to cats. They have exquisite olfactory sensory organs. As disgusting as the scented is for you — it is ONE THOUSAND times worse for them. The scents are overwhelming and cling to the critters’ hair. I do not like the scents but more importantly, neither do critters. Excessive licking/grooming follows after each use to get the scent off their coats. So — I was excited when I found the unscented version of the one referenced (this one). [I had accidentally purchased the SCENTED one first.] How did it work? The truth is that this litter clumps well. The scent is undetectable. So why am I not happy? Here’s why (in case the pic didn’t give it away):1) TRACKING: The lightweightness of this litter means it tracks like CRAZY. I’ve never seen this phenomenon so bad. The pic is after ONE use by each of two cats. Literally. I have moved the vacuum into the “cats bathroom” permanently. If they step in it damp, you will get NOT ONLY the litter but paw PRINTS everywhere (like, on your leather sofa….). (Oh, and it will stick between their toes if wet.) The tracking means it gets tracked throughout the ENTIRE house. You will find in your bed, on your sofa… everywhere the critter goes, you will find it. Which *might* be fine if it wasn’t for the fact that…2) INGESTION: Because the litter sticks to their paws (and fur) so easily, they are constantly grooming themselves. A couple times I snagged a lump right before it almost went into the treats-hole. This is disturbing to me, (but could be catastrophic for critters). But as bad as this is, the next thing that happened was worse…3) TUMMY LICKING: The aggressive tummy licking started. My big boy has never in his life engaged in compulsive tummy licking (or “mowing” if you’d like the technical term) in his bikini area and legs/bum. The lightbulb finally went on for me after about two weeks (*&^%!). When I threw the first batch (Lightweight/Scented) out and went back to Dr. Elsey’s — he got better and the hair started to slowly grow back. Then I had the brilliant idea to try the UNscented version of this litter (this one) thinking that problem was maybe the scent? I was determined. Nope. He has just today (Day 2) started his aggressive “mowing” again.* I feel like such a ****head. My desperate need for “lighter” litter has created a real problem for my baby. So, yes, it goes into the garbage immediately and back to Dr. Elsey. For me (and I am a trained in the sciences) this is enough evidence that the “mowing” is related to the litter. Sure, there could be a third variable (confound) out there somewhere that coincidentally triggered this behavior. But The fact that my big boy began a behavior that subsided with the discontinuation of the product — TWICE — is enough evidence for me.BTW, my chubby-bubbie is a NO-drama-man-cat. He is NOT a delicate, illness-prone cat. He is a sturdy, laid-back, fun-loving, most awesome-personality-blessed Snowshoe in the world. He doesn’t have allergies, isn’t picky about food, loves every stranger he meets, etc. I think that’s why this is hitting so hard. I hurt my precious bubbie. Just trying to find something that was more convenient for me. I know this is a highly rated product. It may work well for others. But this was my (sad) experience. I desperately wanted a new, lighter litter. But I think the product science is just not there yet. Until they can make a product that cats are NOT ingesting or trying to lick off, it’s simply not safe.

    Great clumping litter!

This litter clumps really well and it seems to help keep in the smell. It’s also pretty low dust although I did have a random box that had more dust than usual. It was only one box though so it may have been a fluke. I have been using this for a long time and highly recommend it.

    Best Cat Litter

This cat litter is fantastic! It does not leave a mess and the tracking is very little. It has a very pleasant scent and there is little waste from clumping, as only a small amount clumps. It is easily separated from the unused litter, allowing this product to last much longer than other brands. It is a very good value and I definitely recommend!

    Life is Better

I really like this litter. I have one cat that adopted me four years ago. I am not a cat person but over the years I have fallen in love with this cat. She is atypical cat. I need to thank her every day that she came to me with her ugly skinny self and six of the most precious kittens and a dead bunny she was going to feed on. My husband and I took the kittens to THE CAT LADY, a local organization that finds foster homes for cats and kittens. How could I give up the mama after she chose ME to help her. We love the cat, but the litter is another story. Four years later this one cat has 3 litter boxes. I have tried scented, by mistake I should add. The smell kept me awake all night long. Then we tried a heavy clay, hoping that litter would stay in the box. Not a chance. It glued itself to the bottom of the litter box and everywhere else. This light weight, unscented litter is by far the best choice.

    Works better than other brands

We have tried a few different types, and brands, of litter. We keep coming back to Tidy Cat. Especially the lightweight, which I really appreciate them creating. It’s so much easier to handle for those of us with joint issues. Tidy cat clumps well, never smells bad, and comes in a low dust version.

Amazon – please stop outer-boxing these shipments!

The litter itself is great – lightweight and absorbent. I’m hoping Amazon reads this review, or that other reviewers are having the same delivery issue I’m having. Amazon used to just slap a label on the box of litter and deliver it without outer boxing – I would really like them to go back to doing that. Putting these into an outer box is wasteful, and when you deliver 2-3 boxes of litter inside another giant box, it’s too big and heavy. The delivery guys block my front door with it and I have to unbox it on my front porch so I can carry the individual boxes inside.

They say it is “low dust”. Who are they kidding?

I will give this litter box filler high marks for being light weight. That’s a big plus when I buy, carry, and store many large containers of litter per order. It clumps moderately well although not fast. Wet clumps still fall apart when scooped up, and I scoop litter boxes daily. So, I disagree with the company’s claim that it forms tight clumps. I do believe the regular weight litter clumps tighter and faster. My primary criticism is the dust. I have to wear an N95 mask when I scoop litter boxes just to keep from breathing in the dust and coughing. I’ve never had to do that with any other cat litter. I really don’t understand how the company can honestly claim it to be low dust when the dust poofs up into the air whenever the litter is poured into the litter box or scooped.Because of its light weight I will continue to use this litter, but I will be trying out others while looking for something better.

    The best

Hands down the best litter I have tried. Great at odor control. Super lightweight, great for lifting but it does get tracked out of the box. Clumps well. Not super dusty. Down side is that I’m not sure if it’s great for the cat. He often shakes off his fur and snorts when he leaves the box. But maybe he would do that with any litter? Don’t know. All I know is that his litter box is in my bedroom, and I can’t smell it even though I have failed to scoop it for a whole week. 😬

    Easiest to scoop

I’ve had cats for the last 8 years and have tried several brands. I typically only buy unscented but I was out desperate and this was same day delivery so I tried even tho it’s scented. It’s a strange item to review but it is worth mentioning that it is so easy to scoop! I’m able to get it all within seconds without dust kicking up so this is now the litter I will be buying

    Best I’ve found yet

I am really diggin this litter (pun intended). It seems to be clumping the urine very well and the texture is oddly light. It makes it really easy to scoop out the clumps and clean because the good litter flows easily through the scoop slots. I will be buying this again for sure.

    Best Clumping

Actually keeps clumped together vs cheaper that pee clumps fall apart when scooping. Makes for a cheaper litter box which the cat and I both happy and fresh smelling. On that note I do think it’s a too powdery. Most litter create a sand storm that you need goggles and a mask in order to clean out the box.

Litter thru the mail is a bad idea

While this litter is great, when the box arrived with the 2 boxes of litter inside, it was leaking kitty litter everywhere. I had to sweep the porch, vacuum the living room and the path to the litter boxes. I will NOT order litter thru the mail again!

Scoops Well, But What the H*ll?

Since last Tuesday, I’ve been smelling something fetid in my garage. I assumed it was the garbage, so after trash day on Thursday, I was creeped out to find the garage still had the weird smell.I read enough (& watch enough tv) to know rotting bodies give off a “putrid, sweet odor”, so Bobo the cat and I spent quite a bit of time rustling up dust and spiders, looking for dead animal carcass in and under garage items.Nothing. Nada.Still on topic… during pandemics, it’s wise or at least time-saving to let packages sit “outside” a few days if not needed right away. At any given time, I have at least one Amazon box or one bag of NON-PERISHABLE food in garage, waiting for entry into the castle.Aha! Had I overlooked a piece of fruit or a pork chop in my grocery delivery bag??Nope… just canned tuna and drink mix.Fast forward a few hours.Litter box was low on litter, so I went to garage to bring in the large but “lightweight” white and black cardboard box of Purina Tidy Cats LightWeight 4-in-1 Strength Clumping Cat Litter, delivered earlier in the week.It sat in the opened Amazon box (usually have to at least open the box because I forget what I ordered), and as I approached it, the putrid smell engulfed me.“Oh no! An animal fell in and was trapped somehow… and died. Did a rat get packed in at the warehouse? Surely it would have chewed through the box and gained freedom!”I put on a mask and approached again…closer and closer I crept. Then — a horrifying thought stopped me in my Skechers.“Should I post on FB what is happening, in case I succumb to this toxic cloud of death funk? Otherwise, nobody will find my body until the neighbors smell an even worse sweetly sick odor emanating from my garage. And my cats get HANGRY… so they might be forced to eat my body if left with no crunchies for days and days.”Surprisingly to all who know my “TMI” habits, I opted to keep this experience to myself, as it unfolded.Mask on, (wonderful b’day gift from my sister) deadly sharp limb clippers in hand, I nudged the litter box as it sat in the Amazon box. Nudged again. Approached and poked – and poked again – and poked … a hole in the litter container. And some spilled out. And more putrid smell.OMG… was an animal packaged inside with the litter???I dumped it all out of the cardboard container, and into the Amazon box.I plucked up the now empty litter box and shook it. NOTHING!!!But the stench was stronger. My God!! What wretched gates of hell had I unwittingly opened??!!?And now I had loose litter in an oversized Amazon box, and a kitty litter box inside that still needed filling.I pulled a heavy duty trash bag out and started filling it with the litter… I was getting accustomed to the rotting scent of demon vomit. After taking care of the litter box inside, now full of fresh litter and seasoned with Abigail the cat’s poop (she must christen the box every time there’s fresh litter), I returned to garage sitting with a cup of coffee. After several minutes, I realized the garage smelled ABSOLUTELY FINE! Had I completely acclimated to the smell?Bringing my now empty mug back into the kitchen, I was struck by a familiar, entirely unfriendly stench. For the love of Pete!!! Am I the stench?I sniffed myself where I could reach (honeysuckle and hand soap greeted me).I approached the litter box and leaned down to scoop Abigail’s bountiful box donation and…EUREKA!…mystery 100% solved. The kitty litter itself smells awful. It can best be described as a potpourri of roadkill carcass, rancid beef liver left to defrost in an easterly facing window in summertime Arizona, old lettuce from the back of your fridge, cherry jello smell, and a small bouquet of lavender from a French garden. However, it does scoop much better than the other litter by Tidy cat, so…I highly recommend it.

    Cat litter

Works well, a lot more odor control and it’s light weight.

    litter spreads easily

The absorbency, cleanliness, and scent are all great, no complaints there. However, because the litter is so lightweight, it has a tendency to fly out, either directly of a regular shallow half-box style litterbox or stuck to the cat’s paws. I would say only get this litter if you have some precautions in place to keep litter from tracking out, like a top-entry litterbox, litter mat, etc. It tracks like crazy with a normal box setup.

    light as a feather

many cats around these parts. not fun lifting 40# bags of litter. this stuff is surprisingly effective at half the weight. and the price is the same as what i was paying for the back-breaking stuff i’d been ordering from a, you know, Pet Care site. give it a try!
